Team Viewer… Ever heard about this name from your friends or your partners at school, college, office?Well,Team viewer is basically a software for remote accessing a computer or a server or a mobile. It can be used to access your partner’s computer from your own computer, right as if you were working on his computer. Obviously, you need to have an internet connection for it.

Team Viewer can be used in various scenarios. Say, if a boss didn’t take his laptop and he had to show an important project to another guy. He could borrow that guy’s laptop and just ask someone at his office to turn on his laptop and open up team viewer and put the id and password. That’s it. Now the boss can use his own laptop remotely from that guy’s laptop. Assume a situation where in your pc ran into some trouble and you are not able to figure out what the problem is and your friend knows a solution for it. So, you decide to give remote access to your  friend.

Let us see how team viewer actually works.

When you open Team viewer, you get a  screen like the one shown below. Your friend will also have a similar screen.

• The id and password shown on the left is your id and password. You give this id (in this case 320 952 930) and password (5634) to your friend.
• Your friend now puts this id on his computer (320 952 930) at the right side where we see a field named partner id. After entering  the partner id, he checks either of the two options. For our case, say he chose remote control and clicked on connect to partner.
• Now, switch on your pc and the message “ready to connect”  will change and tell you that your partner is connecting to  your computer.
• At the same time, your partner will be asked to enter the password. Here he enters the password that you gave him (5634).
• After he enters the password correctly, the handshake gets completed and a new window will pop on your friend’s screen which will show the exact same thing as your computer screen is showing. Now your friend can not only see your screen but also he can control your computer. If he moves the cursor on his computer, the cursor moves on your computer too. He can open/close your files/folders and do whatever you can do just as if he was actually using your computer.
